At a press event in Barcelona, during Mobile World Congress 2019, Microsoft executives and partners representing Trimble, PTC, Epic Games, and other virtual and augmented reality ("xR") stakeholders, unveiled the successor to Microsoft's breakthrough augmented reality HMD, simply called Hololens 2. Other major announcements included a development kit of an entirely revamped version of the company's Kinect gaming sensor (also embedded in Hololens 2), marketed towards enterprise-level content capture and subsequent training for computer vision and voice models.
